Goals

  • GOD exists for the purpose of heightening the happiness, morality and choices in life for its members.
  • The goal is achieved by improving the five aspects of “the good life” for all members:

Health – Keep in shape and care for your body and looks.

Mind – Study, actively seek out and evaluate new knowledge.

Wealth – Work hard enough so that you may support yourself and your goals in life.

Love – Actively seek out or keep female company and continuously improve the pleasure attained from it.

Friendship – Add value to friends, help them when down and treat them with respect and understanding.

Rules and Behavior of Members

  • Motivation – GOD members know that their life quality is achieved by focusing on all five aspects of “the good life”.
    • GOD members must seek to motivate other members with positive thinking.
  • Knowledge – GOD members seek out, debate and share knowledge with other GOD members.
    • This knowledge will also be shared on a blog common to all GOD members. (you may currently be viewing this blog0
    • Every GOD member will have write access to this blog
  • Monthly Meeting – GOD members meet monthly where they will cook and eat together, share knowledge and debate subjects.
    • At this monthly gathering members will agree on a group mission to be achieved by all members before next meeting
  • Personal Missions and goals – At the beginning of each week, every GOD member will set his goals and communicate these to GOD.
    • GOD members assist each other with their goals.
    • Assistance may take the form of moral support, debate, instant challenges and missions (see below).
  • Morals – GOD members must strive to live by a moral code.
    • The moral code should be stated to the other GOD members.
    • GOD members must be willing to debate their moral code and receive input from other members on it.
    • A GOD member may change his moral code after careful deliberation – his reasons for doing so should of course be debated with other members
    • If the moral code of a member is defensible, other GOD members must respect and support it, even though their own codes may be different.
  • Debates – GOD members shall actively seek out debate with one another about the methods, purposes and goals of GOD.
    • No subject is off limit for these debates.
    • Debates should be carried out with irony, fun and the purpose of mutual learning.
    • Ad Hominem argumentation is forbidden in debates.
    • Debates in GOD will be conducted with good manners.
  • Instant Challenges –Any GOD member may challenge another member to perform an act.
    • The act may not violate guild rules or values.
    • The challenge can only be issued when in the company of the challenged.
    • The challenge should be stated in such a way that it can be carried out within 15 minutes.
    • No matter the outcome of the challenge – the challenger must always provide positive feedback to the challenge taker.
  • Missions – As part of his weekly goals, a GOD member may create a mission for himself or accept one issued by other member
    • GOD members are expected to suggest missions to each other, using their knowledge of the aspects to assist with the goal.
    • GOD members should do their utmost the accept missions from other members.
    • Missions should seek to bring the GOD member out of his comfort zone and challenge his skills in living “the good life”.

Member requirements

  • Membership is restricted to males
    • Females may attend guild meetings by invitation from any members and accompanied by that member
  • GOD does not dictate member values. However, only members who already hold these values to be self evident are allowed into GOD:
    • Honesty – always tell the truth, even when harmful.
    • Curiosity – Seek out new information every day.
    • Respect – show respect towards strangers and treat them well.
      • Unless they have earned contempt through their actions or words.
  • Members must be able to both speak, read and write English.
  • Members must be atheists – GOD does not have the time, nor the patience, to deal with superstition
