I have started my detox of email. Today I counted it: I am down to checking work email 5 times and my home email 3 times. Close, but not there yet.
I am beginning to zoom in on my morning ritual and optimize it. Getting the right start of the day makes it close to unnecessary to worry about what how you treat your body the rest of the day. Unless of course, you are on a He-Man diet like me.
Here is where I am heading with my morning chores:
- Get out of bed (more about sleep patterns in another blog)
- 15-30 minutes of yoga training
- Prepare oatmeal, eat in front of computer
- Shoot up with substances:
- Ginseng Root. Panax Ginseng is the type I use. Effects on me: Decrease stress, increase sex drive (even more)
- Omega-3 Fat capsule. I am going for Krill Oil next week
- Multi Vitamin – Contains 100% of required daily dosage of pretty much everything that has been clinically tested to work. Tastes like monkey urine. I am thinking about quitting…
- Check email and Facebook. Mark items required for follow up
- Check nails – cut if needed
- Get a good nail cutter, it will last the rest of your life – well worth the money.
- Shower
- While I shower (and sing in it) I start forming a mental map of where my day is going
- Floss, Brush and Shave
- Don’t skip flossing. I timed it – it takes about 30 seconds every morning… You deserve it!
- I use TheraBreath toothpaste and mouth wash. I used to suffer from bad breath – this cures it. As a side effect, it feels nice in the mouth
- I try to focus on the rituals here – thinking about the day while shaving nicks my chin. I have a nasty scar under my nose to prove that men can’t multitask.
- Double espresso at my local coffee pimp
- Yes, I am an addict and proud of it
- This takes me on a small 100m walk, in which the day falls fully in place
- Boot up laptop, start working
