I am currently reading some poetry by Felix Dennis – the rich publisher who has lived a life as many sins and vices – and of philanthropy.
It is fascinating reading – a modern and relevant piece of poetry, but without the horrible sting of post-modernism.
Life is about being ready for it. Felix Dennis has a particular verse, one the keeps ringing in my head, about being ready for love:
Love came to visit me, shy as a fawn.
But finding me busy, she fled, with the dawn.
You can find the rest of the poem in the book: A Glass Half Full.
